Barcelona’s hip new W Hotel

Alladale, Invernesshire

I visited the Alladale Estate, a wilderness reserve in the Scottish Highlands

From the window of my bedroom, I’m looking out at Narnia. Undulating slopes covered in sugar-icing snow, with the rising white crests of craggy mountains folding away to the horizon. In evergreen branches clumps of snow sit like balls of cotton wool. A quiet, wintery wilderness spreads before me, illuminated by the crispest of morning suns.

Siwa Oasis, Egypt

In the middle of the Sahara desert, though, that shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Berlin

A walk around Berlin to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall.
